For several decades, Africa has experienced a steady flow of its brightest minds in search of better opportunities and a better life in developed countries. This has created a phenomenon called "brain drain," resulting in African countries losing some of their most valuable human resources. This has had far-reaching consequences that have impeded the growth and development of African countries, leading to fewer resources invested in education, healthcare, and other critical sectors.

However, the tide is now turning, thanks to the Youth Mentors Hub Initiative's "Brain Gain" initiative. This program is designed to reverse the trend of "brain drain" by providing opportunities for successful African professionals to give back to their communities by mentoring and sponsoring the next generation of African leaders. What Next Mentors are the people who participate in this initiative, and they play a crucial role in the organization's mission to support underprivileged students in African countries.

To become a What Next Mentor, successful African professionals can join the team of Global Mentors, who are responsible for providing mentorship and possible sponsorship to mentees, particularly the Associates and Ambassadors. The organization provides a platform for these mentors to connect with underprivileged students and offers them the necessary training to become effective mentors. By sharing their experiences and knowledge, What Next Mentors can help shape the next generation of African leaders and contribute to the development of a more skilled and innovative workforce in Africa.

In addition to mentorship, the Youth Mentors Hub Initiative provides material support to Associates and Ambassadors, including writing materials such as exercise books and textbooks, access to educational resources, financial assistance, and support services. The organization also engages in community development activities, empowering youth with the necessary skills to tackle community problems and contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

In conclusion, the Youth Mentors Hub Initiative's Brain Gain initiative is a powerful tool for reversing the trend of "brain drain" in Africa and empowering the next generation of African leaders. By supporting underprivileged students and providing them with the skills, knowledge, and resources they need to succeed, the organization is making a meaningful difference in the lives of African youth and contributing to the development of a brighter future for Africa.
